July 20th & 21st
BEGINNERS TWO DAY INTENSIVE
10-1pm & 3-6pm on Both Days
This retreat is for complete beginners or those who are still developing good basic technique. We will go over the fundamental strokes, basic combinations and a couple of core rhythm cycles. We will discover the joy of creating the beautiful sounds possible on tabla. Everyone is welcome!

July 25th - 27th
INTERMEDIATE TWO + DAY INTENSIVE
5-8pm Thursday evening / 10-1pm & 3-6pm on Friday & Saturday

This retreat is for those of you who have been playing a while and want to focus in on technique, clarity and core material. We will focus on developing basic accompaniment, expression and putting together your portfolio of practice material material. The second day will push a little harder than the first :)

July 28th
ADVANCED ONE DAY INTENSIVE
10-1pm & 3-6pm on Sunday
This retreat is for tabla players who have a clear understanding of the tabla tradition and have a grasp of peshkar / kaida / rela / gat. We will be learning full theme, variation and tihai which is suitable for performance. Anyone is welcome, but the class will push on expression, bringing our playing up to speed and a good selection of material. Should be a blast !!!

July 27th - 28th
ONE INTERMEDIATE DAY & ADVANCED INTENSIVE
10-1pm & 3-6pm on Saturday & Sunday
This retreat is for those of you who have been playing a while and want to focus in on technique, clarity and core material both as a reminder of core phrases and technique as well as want to push their skills into the advanced arena.
This combination is designed for those more advanced players who want to experience the Saturday accompaniment classes / concert / and Sunday Advanced.

July 25th - 28th
FULL INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED INTENSIVE
5-8pm Thursday evening / 10-1pm & 3-6pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday
This retreat is for those of you who have been playing a while and want to focus in on technique, clarity and core material both as a reminder of core phrases and technique as well as want to push their skills into the advanced arena. It can be very interesting to try to keep up with higher level players and see levels of playing that are above your own. Please feel free to join us if you can and be ready to let the music wash over you:)

If a retreat is missed for any reason, then all funds can be applied towards future retreats





What you'll need:
A set of tabla
A notebook (audio recorders allowed).
A willingness to visualize your limitless potential.

Ordering Tabla:
If you do not yet own your own set of tabla, or you'd like a new one, then please email ty@tyburhoe.com - but try to order at least a month and a half before the retreat since they are custom made in India and need to be shipped.

During Breaks from Tabla Class:
Come a day early or stay a day later - Hit the foothills for an invigorating hike on the spectacular nearby trails, swim in one of the many mountain creeks (summer :), rent mountain bikes, shop the local boutiques on the famous Pearl Street Mall, or discover Boulder's world class coffee shops serving the best cappuchino outside of Italy.
